In my experience as a psychologist, "fit" is perhaps the most important factor in good therapy outcomes. Do you feel comfortable with your therapist, do they understand you, are they asking you the right questions, are they hearing you accurately, do you feel that you can trust her/him, and do they create a safe space for you to be open and honest?

By the time most of us seek help, we do not have the energy or motivation to build a new relationship from the ground up. But building a relationship is exactly what has to happen for therapy to work, and it helps to have someone who is willing to work and walk with you on your journey.

I offer in-person therapy for adults in Elizabeth City, NC, and surrounding Pasquotank County communities. I am licensed in North Carolina and Pennsylvania, and I offer teletherapy services in both states.

I hold graduate degrees from Boston College (MA) and The Pennsylvania State University (PhD), and I completed a pre-doctoral internship at Penn State's Counseling and Psychological Services in 1999. I have worked both in private practice and college counseling for the past 25 years. I am trained as a generalist — I am comfortable and experienced working with most people and most issues.

My goal is not to market myself to you, though I would love the opportunity to see if I might be the right fit for you. Whether with me or another therapist, I hope that you find the fit that you are looking for.
